Offences

Under the RMA it is an offence to breach

• sections 9 (land use), 11 (subdivision), 12 (coastal), 13 (river or lake beds), 14 (water) and 15 (discharges) of the RMA (permitted activity rules or consents granted under the above sections);
• an enforcement order;
• an abatement notice;
• a water shortage direction; and
• section 22 (providing identity), 42 (protection of sensitive information), 327 (excessive noise direction).

It is also an offence to wilfully obstruct, deceive, hinder, resist an enforcement officer and not attending the Court or refusing to co-operate with the Court.
