Solid Wastes

Reduce waste generation.

Avoid burning solid wastes, apart from dried plant materials.

Avoid using gullies or pits to dump non-biodegradable solid waste items.

Where possible use rendering plants to dispose dead stock.

Use complying offal pits to dispose offal (see regional council water or waste plan for rules for offal pit construction and use).

Metals can be stored and transported or sold to metal recycling companies.

Plastics and tyres could be disposed at the council landfill facilities for recycling or disposal.
